Old Tucson Studios | |
Old Tucson Studios is a fun and entertaining Tucson attraction and draws crowds year round. It's a fun place to go on a little day trip to experience what Old Tucson might have felt like back in the 1860's. They also put on special seasonal events on a regular basis.
The Old Tucson Studios was originally built as a film set for the movie "Arizona" back in 1939. This set has been used in several other western themed productions like the Gunfight at the OK Corral and Little House on the Prairie. Several John Wayne movies were also filmed here including Rio Bravo and El Dorado. This place is fun, interesting and somewhat corny, but what the heck, it's a fun place to go. They put on gunfights, dance hall shows and stunt shows. The staff is all in themed costumes and there is food and beverages available. We've been out there several times and always have fun. If you plan to visit Old Tucson Studios be sure to wear comfortable clothes and good walking shoes. Also take sun screen as you will do lots of walking and be out in the sun the whole time. The Old Tucson Studios Park hours are normally 10AM till 4PM but call ahead before you drive all the way out there. And Lastly, be sure to stop by the Saloon and say Howdy to the Girls! Driving Directions: The Old Tucson Studios is located West of Tucson. Take I-10 East, exit on Speedway Boulevard and head West. Just keep going, it's a long way. You will cross Gate's Pass and come down out of the mountains. Turn South on Kinney Road and follow the signs.
