Selling your Tucson Home? There are several important things to do as soon as you close on the sale of your Tucson Home. This is a partial guide to what to do and where to get the local information need for these tasks.

1. Forward your Mail to your new address. Visit our Tucson Address Change page for full instructions.

2. Register to vote if you move out of town or update your address on your voter registration card so that when election time rolls around, you will be able to vote.

3. Get a new drivers license if you are moving out of state. Or change your address on your existing Arizona driver's license if you are staying in Arizona.

4. Contact your insurance agent to transfer your policies if necessary. Complete a Household Inventory of your new home.

5. Find out when the trash and garbage is picked up and whether there is a re-cycling program available.

6. If you have to change doctors and dentists, transfer your medical histories.

7. Ask for recommendations of good contractors if moving to another area like plumbers, air-conditioning services and the like so that when you need them, you will know who you should call without being at the mercy of the yellow pages.

8. Locate new service providers if moving out of town such as banks, pharmacies, cleaners, etc.

9. Make a New List of emergency numbers such as fire, ambulance, police, hospital, poison control, so they will be available in an emergency.

10. Register the kids for school. if you move out of your current district or out of state. You will probably want to start on this one even prior to the closing on your Tucson home depending upon the time of year you move.

11. Recognize that the move can be very stressful on people and that you should be considerate of your family members and yourself.
