El Rio Golf Course - 520-791-4229 Description, Pictures, Map & Suggestions
The El Rio Golf Club was originally built in the 1930's and was operated as a country club until the late 1960's. In 1968 the City of Tucson became the owner of the El Rio Course and converted it to a municipal course for the benefit of the public. Some nice pictures available on this course.
El Rio is a tight little course, pretty flat most of the way it has a couple of small lakes and small greens. There are lots of trees and the course is ideal for the short game. A great place to tune up your game. Interestingly this course was the original course for the Tucson Open. My how things change over the years.
El Rio is a links style course and they do have a 450 yard hole (number 2) which is a par 4 and the most challenging hole on the course. One big advantage of this course is that it is located close to downtown which makes for an easy afternoon game once you leave the office.
There are no homes for sale at the El Rio Golf course. This is a Tucson Municipal Golf Course.
Driving Directions: From I-10 and Speedway, Go West on Speedway. The El Rio Golf Course will be just a few blocks down on your right. Map
