Sahuarita Lake is just south of Tucson, take I-19 south to the Sahuarita Road Exit (#75). Follow Sahuarita road about a mile East to La Villita Rd, head north on La Villita for a little over a mile and you will reach the lake. This is an urban lake in Tucson and does require the Tucson Urban Fishing License.
Sahuarita Lake is about 10 acres and shallow, with an average depth of only about 7 feet. The Lake is only open during daylight hours and there are no gas motors allowed on the lake. Lots of rules here as this is an urban lake, no swimming or wading, all pets must be on a leash, no glass containers and so on.
Sahuarita Lake has Catfish, Bass, Bluegill, Sunfish and Rainbows in season. This is a great little neighborhood lake to take the kids to. A great place for them to learn how to fish and learn all the appropriate rules and etiquette about fishing.
